Visit us at Hunter College!
Our campus tours are designed for students in grades 6–10 and are led by current Hunter College students who share their own journeys from middle school, high school, and college. As we explore the campus, students gather evidence on a handout to explore whether Hunter -- and college in general -- could be a good fit for them.
By the end of the visit, students will understand that they can start taking steps now toward the college of their choice. We finish by visiting our College Now office to learn about opportunities to study at Hunter during high school.
FAQs
- Can I visit more than once? Visits are limited to two per middle school and one per high school per year. Large high schools may request an exception to visit twice.
- How many students can I bring? Visits are capped at 30 students. There must be one chaperone per 10 students.
- What is the cancellation policy? Please cancel at least two weeks in advance. Schools may become ineligible for CUNY Explorers if they cancel within two weeks for more than one visit.
- Can we eat on campus? Because space is limited we encourage groups to plan meals before arriving on campus or after leaving whenever possible. Central Park is just a few blocks away for days when the weather is nice! We can make accommodations if scheduling or school policies make that difficult (see details here).
- Where do we meet? We will greet you at the main entrance on Lexington and 68th street. If early, you may need to wait on your own in the lobby.
- Is the timing flexible? We ask that you plan ahead of time for the full two hours and do your best to be there at the start. We coordinate with departments ahead of time and need to stay on schedule to respect their plans.
